Sometimes, what disrupts a home is not what’s visible - it’s what feels unfinished. In this home, the builder had provided an open utility attached to the kitchen. Functional, yes. But every time our clients stood here cooking, they were also looking straight into the washing and cleaning zone. The movement, the clutter, the visual break - it fragmented what should have felt calm. Luxury kitchens are not defined by finishes alone. They are defined by flow, sightlines, and emotional calm So we rethought the entire experience. Instead of allowing the utility to remain an exposed we reclaimed it. The open doorway was absorbed into the cabinetry elevation. We designed a full-height panel that aligns perfectly with the cabinetry, matched in finish, proportion, and detailing - so what looks like a tall cabinet in the kitchen is actually a concealed door. No handles announcing it. No frames breaking the rhythm. Just a black vertical profile handle that creates a subtle reveal, but never gives the secret away. An all-black bedroom that feels open. He asked for an all-black bedroom. As designers, that’s a colour we approach with care - especially when it comes to a space meant for rest and study. Black can easily feel heavy, closed in, or overwhelming if it isn’t handled thoughtfully. But this was the vision of a teenager - clear and confident about what he wanted his space to feel like. We didn’t advise otherwise. We listened. The idea wasn’t to soften the black - it was to shape it. To give it layers, texture, and light, so the room could feel deep without feeling dark in the wrong way. Behind the bed, we introduced a stone-inspired panel with a black marble finish. The soft veining breaks the surface gently, adding movement and dimension, so the wall feels rich and tactile rather than flat. For the wardrobes and display units, dark-tinted glass became key. It keeps the mood unmistakably dark, but allows light to pass through, preventing the room from feeling smaller once the wardrobes take their space. You can see through it just enough - shelves, clothes, objects - creating depth and a sense of openness even within a monochrome palette. Lighting was treated with equal restraint. Subtle internal illumination within the wardrobes adds warmth, highlights textures, and brings balance to the darker tones. The black doesn’t diminish the space here. It’s measured. The clients were clear, they did not want a closed walk-in wardrobe - no doors, partitions, no sense of separation. In response we positioned the wardrobes to flank either side of the space, with a central island dresser anchoring the layout. There are no doors to open, no thresholds to cross making the wardrobe feel like a natural extension of the bedroom, not a room apart. Colour-blocked wall panels quietly visually zone the space without enclosing it & protect against moisture and wear. Opposite the bed, a sitting area settles in effortlessly. Lounge chairs lean into the panels, softened by indoor plants. It becomes a place for slow starts in the morning, pauses between the day or quiet conversations at the end of the day. Beyond this, the room opens into a large wrap-around balcony - not as an afterthought, but as a natural extension of daily life. Early in the year, The KariGhars crossed ₹100 crore in revenue. When a tough layout meets smart design. Sometimes, builders hand you a kitchen layout that feels complex right from the start. Irregular layouts that come with unexpected corners. In this kitchen, the original plan included a door that would have closed it off from the dining area. So we removed the door & widened the passage, allowing the kitchen to open up & become part of the home’s rhythm. Movement feels natural now - people walk in & out, pause for conversations & stay connected while cooking or hosting. Even with it’s irregular shape, we designed the kitchen to follow an efficient kitchen triangle.The hob, prep area & washing zone are placed to support intuitive movement. Cooking feels effortless. Multiple people can be in the space together without it feeling crowded. But the challenges weren’t over yet. The layout left a small, awkward nook - one of those corners that gets ignored because “nothing can be done there.” Except, this client had a wish. A daily ritual she wanted space for. A coffee corner. That corner became a coffee nook. A place to slow brew a cup, exchange a few quiet words, or simply pause before the day begins. Today, it’s one of the most loved parts of the kitchen. The checkerboard flooring adds a classic charm, while clean cabinetry & modern finishes keep the kitchen easy to maintain. From a compact mandir to an airy sanctuary. When our clients first shared their Mandir vision, it was simple & heartfelt: A small shrine at the center, framed by two tall storage units on both sides. But to us, a Luxury Mandir Design is more than symmetry and cabinetry - it’s about presence, energy, light and the way faith blends quietly into everyday living. Because this Mandir sat within the family lounge, we proposed something different - a space that felt airy, minimal and spiritually expansive rather than enclosed. So we redesigned the layout. All storage now lives at the bottom - hidden, functional and uncluttered. The shrine above remains visually light, creating the feel of a peaceful room rather than a boxed unit. There was already a solid wall on the right. To balance the visual weight, we added a glass wall on the other side - a design technique that brings symmetry, depth, reflection and quiet elegance. The pillars framing the Mandir are detailed with intricate jaali patterns on the top, a nod to traditional temple architecture - preserving the cultural soul within a modern home. At the heart, the carved OM on a backlit Corian backdrop radiates a warm glow - soft, diffused and spiritual. It reminds you that light always comes from within.
