PostsBreaking News! Shining a light on the secrets of the brain. 🧠✨ The 2026 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Peter Hegemann, Georg Nagel, and Karl Deisseroth for their monumental creation of optogenetics—a technology that allows scientists to control specific brain cells using nothing but light. 💡 How it works: 🔬 The Discovery: Hegemann and Nagel discovered channelrhodopsin, a unique protein from green algae that opens up and creates an electrical signal when hit by blue light. 🧠 The Application: Deisseroth figured out how to insert this algal protein into mammalian nerve cells, giving scientists a literal “light switch” to turn individual neurons on and off with millisecond precision. From their foundational papers in Science and PNAS (2002/2003) to the landmark Nature Neuroscience breakthrough in 2005, their work has completely transformed how we study Parkinson’s, depression, addiction, and the very nature of human behavior. 🌍🏆 #NobelPrize #Optogenetics #Neuroscience #ScienceCommunication #Innovation BrainPower MedTech Biophysics

I’m glad they did. ✨ I have always believed that intelligence should never make our world smaller. I may spend most of my days surrounded by science, but I feel equally alive while appreciating art in all its forms—dancing, singing, sketching, painting, sports and everything created with passion. I may not practise every art, but I deeply admire those who have the courage to express themselves through it. PostsAfter my Master’s, I didn’t only wait for vacancies to appear on job portals. I searched for official company contacts, sent short and targeted emails, attached my CV and followed up professionally. That approach got me calls from three companies. The lesson? Sometimes your CV isn’t weak. It simply hasn’t reached the right person. So, I compiled public career contacts and official job portals for biotech, pharma, diagnostics, genomics and drug-discovery companies in India. Before applying: • Check the company’s current vacancies • Customise your CV for the role • Write a clear subject line • Attach your CV as a PDF • Follow up only once • Never pay for an interview or job offer These are public application contacts, not personal HR email addresses. An email does not guarantee a vacancy or response, so always verify it on the official company website. Save this post for your next application. Share it with someone searching for a life-science job. PostsFollow🎖️Your research should be judged by its quality—not by how much you can afford to pay for publication. Many researchers assume that every reputed journal charges an expensive Article Processing Charge. But several established hybrid journals allow authors to publish through the traditional subscription route with ₹0 APC. In this carousel, I have compiled 28 journals across seven subjects: 🔬 Analytical Chemistry 🧬 Biotechnology & Biochemistry 🦠 Microbiology 🧪 Materials & Soft Matter 🧠 Psychology 💻 Machine Learning & AI 🎗️ Cancer Research The 2025 Journal Impact Factor is also included for every journal. Important clarification: ₹0 APC does not necessarily mean Open Access. Under the subscription route: ✅ The author pays no APC ✅ The article undergoes normal editorial assessment and peer review ✅ Open Access may still be offered as an optional paid route ✅ Readers may require institutional or subscription access Before submitting, always verify: • Whether your manuscript matches the journal’s scope • Accepted article types • Current indexing and editorial policies • Subscription versus Open Access options • Any additional colour, page or service charges • Your institution’s or funder’s Open Access requirements Impact Factor should never be the only criterion. Scope, credibility, readership, indexing and the quality of peer review matter just as much. Save this post before choosing a journal—and share it with a researcher who thinks publication is always expensive. PostsThere’s a moment in science they don’t talk about enough… When your work finally becomes reel. Not just in your laptop folders, not just in your lab notebook… but printed, published, seen. This right here? Months (sometimes years) of failed experiments, self-doubt, reviewer comments, rewrites… compressed into a single paper. People think it’s just a publication. It’s not. It’s proof that you stayed when things didn’t work. It’s evidence that your curiosity survived frustration. It’s a quiet “I didn’t quit.” For a scientist, this feeling is strange— not loud like success, not dramatic like celebration… but deeply personal. Like watching an idea you protected for so long finally learn how to stand on its own. And maybe that’s what a publication really is— not the end of work, but the moment your thoughts stop belonging only to you. #ThatCoolProfessor #ResearchLife #ScientistJourney #Publication #PhDLife

From a flat interface where rays pass unchanged, to a concave lens that diverges them, to mirrors that reflect and reshape their journey—every interaction is governed by precise physical laws. Whether it’s refraction through a convex lens forming real images, or reflection in curved mirrors altering perception, it all comes down to how light responds to curvature and medium. And here’s the part most people miss 👇 The same principles you’re seeing in this simple animation are the foundation of everything from microscopes and cameras… to how we observe distant galaxies through telescopes. ReelsFollow🎖️From shell to system — controlled embryogenesis in action. 🧬🐣 What you’re seeing is not just an egg being opened — it’s a carefully orchestrated in ovo manipulation protocol used to study early developmental biology. Process overview: • Candling & staging to identify viable embryos and developmental phase (Hamburger–Hamilton stages) • Aseptic shell windowing to access the embryo without compromising viability • Microinjection of specific agents (growth factors / tracers / gene modulators) into targeted regions (yolk sac / blastoderm / vasculature) • Sealing & incubation under controlled temperature (~37.5°C) and humidity • Real-time observation of angiogenesis, tissue differentiation, and morphogenesis This model allows us to investigate: → Cellular differentiation pathways → Vascular development (angiogenesis assays) → Gene expression dynamics in vivo → Drug/compound effects on embryonic systems Why chick embryos? They are a powerful translational model — accessible, cost-effective, and remarkably similar in early vertebrate developmental pathways. ReelsFollow🎖️A C-section (Cesarean section) is not “just a cut.” It is a carefully planned, layer-by-layer major abdominal surgery where every step is taken with precision to protect two lives. During a C-section, surgeons do not simply open the skin. They carefully pass through multiple anatomical layers, each with a specific function and healing timeline: 1️⃣ Skin (Epidermis & Dermis) The outermost protective layer. This is where the visible incision is made and later sutured, stapled, or glued for healing. 2️⃣ Subcutaneous Fat (Adipose Tissue) This layer varies in thickness from person to person and requires careful handling to prevent bleeding and infection. 3️⃣ Fascia (Rectus Sheath) A strong connective tissue layer that provides structural support to the abdomen. This is one of the most important layers surgeons carefully open and later close to maintain abdominal strength. 4️⃣ Rectus Abdominis Muscles Contrary to popular belief, these muscles are usually separated, not cut, to minimize long-term damage and aid recovery. 5️⃣ Peritoneum A thin, delicate membrane that lines the abdominal cavity and protects internal organs. It is gently opened to access the uterus. 6️⃣ Uterine Wall (Myometrium) This is the muscular layer of the uterus. A precise incision is made here to safely deliver the baby. 7️⃣ Amniotic Sac Finally opened to bring the baby into the world. After delivery, each layer is carefully addressed again— bleeding controlled, tissues aligned, and layers closed in sequence to ensure healing, strength, and future safety. This entire process requires: • surgical expertise • anesthesia support • sterile precision • teamwork • postoperative monitoring • and weeks of recovery All while the mother begins breastfeeding, bonding, and caring for a newborn. So when someone says, “C-section is the easy way,” remember this: 👉 It involves 7 anatomical layers 👉 It is major surgery 👉 Recovery happens alongside motherhood 👉 And it exists to save lives A C-section is not lesser. It is medical science meeting maternal courage. Respect C-section mothers. Respect surgical birth. Respect informed medical decisions.

ReelsFollow🎖️Regeneration in planarians is one of the most remarkable examples of biological self-repair. When a planarian is cut into multiple body fragments, each fragment can regenerate the missing parts and form a complete organism within days. This ability is driven by a population of adult pluripotent stem cells called neoblasts, which constitute nearly 20–30% of the planarian’s cells. After injury, neoblasts rapidly migrate to the wound site, proliferate, and form a structure called the blastema. These cells then differentiate in a highly coordinated manner, restoring correct body axes, organs, and tissue identity. Within approximately 7 days, distinct head and tail structures are re-established with functional nervous and digestive systems. Planarian regeneration provides a powerful model to study stem cell biology, tissue patterning, wound healing, and the molecular basis of regeneration—insights that are highly relevant to regenerative medicine and developmental biology.

The goal is to streamline the national testing system and align it with the interdisciplinary nature of modern biological research. Key clarifications (important): • No reduction in fellowships – CSIR and DBT will continue awarding the same number of seats as before; only the selection exam becomes common. • Balanced question paper – Adequate optional questions from Life Sciences and Biotechnology, allowing students to attempt questions from their core strengths. • Fair evaluation – Focus on conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and research aptitude, not narrow specialization. • Expanded eligibility – Biotechnology candidates qualifying this joint exam will now be eligible for JRF + Assistant Professor + PhD, unlike earlier DBT-BET limitations. This is not just a merger of exams—it’s a shift towards a unified, inclusive, and research-oriented assessment framework. Different backgrounds. One exam. Equal opportunity.

ReelsFollow🎖️This is not CGI. Not animation. Not AI. What you’re watching is a 16-hour real-time process compressed into a time-lapse — an embryo forming its spinal cord, one of the most crucial events in early development. During this stage, cells don’t move randomly. They communicate, align, fold, and specialize in a tightly regulated sequence called neurulation. This is when the neural plate folds to form the neural tube, which later develops into the brain and spinal cord — the body’s primary communication system. Any disturbance at this stage can lead to serious congenital conditions like spina bifida or anencephaly, which is why this moment is considered one of the most critical windows in developmental biology. Recorded by Dr. Elizabeth M. Haynes & Jiaye “Henry” He, this footage is a powerful reminder that life is not built instantly — it is carefully assembled, cell by cell, signal by signal. Reels🩸 Blood Donation Is Not Charity — It’s Life Science in Action When you donate one unit of blood, you don’t donate one thing — you donate four lifesaving components: 🔴 Red Blood Cells (RBCs) – Carry oxygen; critical for trauma, surgery, anemia 🟡 Plasma – Maintains blood pressure; used in burns, liver disease, clotting disorders 🧬 Platelets – Enable clot formation; essential for cancer and ICU patients ⚪ White Blood Cells (in specific therapies) – Immune defense 👉 One donation = up to 3–4 lives saved ❓ Why is it important to know this? Because blood is not manufactured. It has no artificial substitute. Every hospital emergency depends on real human donors. India faces daily shortages, not due to lack of need — but lack of awareness. 🔬 The Science Behind Blood Donation • The human body replaces donated plasma in 24–48 hours • Red blood cells regenerate in 2–3 weeks • Bone marrow is stimulated → improves blood cell production • Iron metabolism resets → better hematological balance Your body is biologically designed to donate and recover. 🧠 Blood donation is safe, regulated, and scientifically optimized. ❤️ It is one of the highest impact medical interventions a healthy person can do. 📣 If you’re healthy — you’re a potential lifesaver. 🩸 Donate blood. Donate science. ReelsIf the DHR-BRET exam is in 15 days, this is the only plan you should follow. Most aspirants don’t fail due to lack of effort. They fail because the last 15 days are spent in panic, random revisions, and poor prioritization. This reel focuses on fixing exactly that. In these final 15 days, the goal is not to study everything, but to: • Revise high-yield concepts • Strengthen fundamentals frequently tested • Practice previous-year and concept-driven MCQs • Build short notes for rapid recall • Improve accuracy through smart elimination This exam rewards clarity, consistency, and strategy—not burnout. The framework shared here is designed for the actual pattern and thinking level of the exam conducted by AIIMS, where conceptual understanding matters more than volume. If you want a day-wise 15-day breakup, comment “15” or DM “BRET”. Save this reel for revision. And as my professor once said, “Compete with who you were yesterday, not with others — that’s how you build a beautiful life.” 🌙🔥 #ChasingGreatness #GrindOClock #ThatCoolProfessor – @thatcoolprofessor

Visiting Srisailam is not just a blessing… it is a spiritual rebirth! Every moment spent in the presence of Bhavani and Shankara purifies the soul. Srisailam is not an ordinary pilgrimage site… it is a sacred land where a Jyotirlinga and a Shaktipeeth coexist! The moment I witnessed the Ekashila Lingam in the sanctum, something within me changed… Tears filled my eyes, yet my heart was overflowing with joy! In that moment of experiencing Shiva’s essence and the supreme divine energy, I felt like I no longer existed… It was an indescribable experience! Srisailam is not just a temple; it is an experience that touches the soul—a divine journey into the presence of the Almighty!
