Delhi witnessed its first late-September rainfall in seven years on Saturday, with 0.6 mm of rain recorded at Safdarjung by 8:30 PM. The showers also brought a noticeable drop in temperatures, with the maximum settling at 29.2°C — 5.1°C below normal for this time of year. From April 1, 2026, toll payments across India are likely to go fully digital, with transactions accepted only via FASTag or UPI, as per the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. With over 98% FASTag penetration already in place, the move aims to cut down waiting time, reduce congestion, and make toll crossings faster and smoother. Once implemented, vehicles without a valid FASTag won’t be able to pay cash at toll plazas.
