PostsFrequently asked questions lately 🤍 1. Where am I consulting now? 📍 Cloudnine Hospital, Nallagandla 🕘 9 AM–2 PM | Monday–Saturday 2. How do I book an appointment? Through the Cloudnine website or simply click the link in my bio. 3. Do I work on Sundays? No 😊 Sundays are my days off. 4. What happened to Cherish Children’s Clinic? Cherish is now closed, and consultations are no longer happening there. 5. Why did I close Cherish? A recent relocation, changing family priorities and simply wanting a little more mental space. With my daughter now in high school, this phase of life needed me to rearrange a few things. 🤍 Will Cherish come back someday? I honestly don’t know yet. For now, I’m very happy where I am. 😊 Do I take online consultations? Yes, on a limited basis. My schedule is a little packed right now, but you can DM me here or message the contact number in my bio and we can find a suitable slot. And if you’d like to consult me in person, you know where to find me now! 🤍 Cloudnine Nallagandla | 9 AM–2 PM | Monday–Saturday

PostsAfter seeing me attend the Ganesh puja every evening, a couple of people asked me out of genuine curiosity — “Doctor, how come you’re not at work?” And it made me wonder… why does seeing a doctor enjoying an evening feel unusual? It took me years of hard work to reach a place where I could finally say — these are the hours I choose to work, and the rest of my time belongs to my children, my family and myself. Doctors deserve a work-life balance too. And sometimes, we have to consciously choose it. 🤍

ReelsParents, why are we so obsessed with our baby’s weight? 😄⚖️ Your baby’s growth is important—but that doesn’t mean you need to keep checking their weight at home every few days. During the first year, there are plenty of opportunities to monitor growth at regular pediatric visits and vaccinations. And remember, we don’t look at just one number on the scale—we look at the growth trend, length, head circumference, feeding, development and overall health. Unless your pediatrician has specifically advised frequent weight monitoring, don’t let the weighing scale add unnecessary stress to this beautiful phase. ❤️ Feed them, watch them grow, celebrate their milestones and enjoy your baby. Leave the growth chart to us! 👶🏻❤️ #1minwithdrjyo #drjyothirmayi #pediatricianhyderabad

PostsSome beautiful chapters are meant to end—not because they weren’t good enough, but because they have served their purpose. ❤️ Cherish gave me an identity of my own. It was a space that saw thousands of tiny footsteps, worried parents, recoveries, laughter, tears, and so many children who simply never wanted to leave. It became so much more than a clinic—it became a part of me. But as my little patients grew, so did what I wanted to offer them. They needed me to care for them with better facilities, stronger support, and everything they might need under one roof. I know there are many parents—and many of my little ones—who still miss Cherish. Some miss the familiarity, some the warmth of the space, and some simply wish I were still closer to home. And every time you tell me that, I realise how deeply this little place was loved. ❤️ I miss parts of it too. But perhaps growth sometimes asks us to step outside what is familiar and comfortable, even when that comfort is beautiful. So Cherish, as a space, may have completed its journey. But what it stood for hasn’t. Everything it gave me, everything it taught me, and every little family that became a part of its story comes with me into this next chapter. To every parent who trusted me, and every little one who filled these rooms with life—thank you. Cherish will forever be cherished—by me, and I hope, by all the little hearts and families that once called it their own. ❤️ And maybe this isn’t really the end of Cherish at all. Maybe it simply needed a little more room to grow. Who knows what it might become someday? :)

ReelsYour baby doesn't need to love every food on the first try. Starting solids is more than introducing nutrition. For a baby, every new food is a sensory experience and learning a new skill. Taste, texture, smell, temperature and even the way food is offered can shape how they experience food. In Episode 4 of The Parent Lab: Mastering Your Baby’s First Foods, host @KritiVij speaks with Dr. Jyothirmayi, Consultant Pediatrician and Founder of Cherish Children's Clinic, Hyderabad, about picky eating, introducing variety, repetition without pressure, texture progression and the realities of feeding in a busy household. Because mastering your baby's first foods is about giving them the time, space and opportunities to learn. Catch Episode 4 of The Parent Lab now. ReelsBreastfeeding takes extra energy and nutrients — not just for your baby, but for you too! 🤱💛 A balanced diet with enough protein, healthy fats, calcium, iron and other essential nutrients helps support a mother’s nutritional needs during breastfeeding. Here are 5 simple foods/food groups worth including regularly: 🥚 Eggs — or dal, beans/tofu for vegetarians 🥛 Milk, curd or paneer 🥬 Green leafy vegetables 🌾 Whole grains & millets 🥜 Nuts & seeds 💧 Plus, stay well hydrated! And remember — there is no single “magic food” that increases breast milk. ReelsIf you’ve been thinking about getting a colour analysis, I highly recommend @stylecuesbyanugna 🤍 I genuinely believed all colours and prints suited me… until this session! I was amazed at how much the right colours and styles can elevate your overall look. As someone who’s always busy (and honestly not a fan of shopping 😄), having someone who understands what truly suits me made all the difference. For the first time, I shopped with confidence, explored stores without feeling overwhelmed, and actually enjoyed the experience. This wasn’t just about colours—it was about understanding what works for me and making future shopping so much easier. Looking forward to many more shopping days with you, @stylecuesbyanugna ✨

ReelsYour baby didn’t poop today? Or pooping after every feed? 👉 BOTH can be normal in exclusively breastfed babies Breast milk is so well digested that: ✔ Some babies poop after every feed ✔ Some may not poop for a few days ⚠️ Don’t panic… watch the baby, not just the diaper. When to worry: * Poor feeding * Excess crying * Vomiting * Hard stools / blood in stool * Poor weight gain Save this — every new parent needs this reassurance 🤍 #babypoop #1minwithdrjyo #drjyothirmayi #cherishchildrensclinic

ReelsYour baby was finally sleeping well… and suddenly started waking up again? 😴 If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Many parents feel something is wrong when sleep suddenly changes — but in most cases, this is completely normal. In the first year, babies grow and develop rapidly, and sleep disturbances often happen during phases like: • Growth spurts • Sleep regressions (around 4 months, 8–10 months) • Teething • Learning new skills like rolling or crawling 👉 Your baby hasn’t “forgotten” how to sleep. 👉 This is usually a temporary phase. What helps: ✔ Maintain a consistent bedtime routine ✔ Avoid overstimulation before sleep ✔ Follow your baby’s cues #babysleep #1minwithdrjyo #sleepregression #drjyothirmayi #cherishchildrensclinic

ReelsIs your child’s weight normal? 🤔 This is one of the most common questions I hear in my clinic every single day. Here’s a simple rule every parent should know 👇 ✔️ Birth weight: 2.5–3.5 kg ✔️ 1 year: ~9–10 kg ✔️ After that: +2 kg per year So roughly: 2 yrs – 12 kg 3 yrs – 14 kg 4 yrs – 16 kg 5 yrs – 18 kg 👉 But remember, every child is different. What matters most is consistent growth, not just one number. If you’re worried about your child’s weight, don’t guess — consult your pediatrician 🤍 #childgrowth #1minwithdrjyo #drjyothirmayi #cherishchildrensclinic

ReelsMilk and bread improve breast milk production — Myth ❌ One of the most common things I hear from new mothers, especially in India… But here’s the truth 👇 Breast milk production does NOT increase just because you drink milk or eat bread. Your milk supply mainly depends on: ✔️ Frequent feeding / demand from the baby ✔️ Adequate overall food intake ✔️ Good protein consumption ✔️ Staying well hydrated Yes, drinking fluids is important. Yes, eating well matters. But milk and bread by themselves do NOT increase breast milk production. So instead of focusing on one particular food, focus on overall nutrition and regular feeding. 🤍 — If you’re a new mom and have heard this before, you’re not alone 🤗 Drop your doubts in the comments ✨ #mythbusterswithdrjyo #BreastfeedingMyths #drjyothirmayi #cherishchildrensclinic

ReelsDo you have a 3-month-old baby? This stage is what we call the Awakening Phase… 🤍 At this age, your baby begins transitioning from reflex-driven behavior… to purposeful responses. You may notice: ✨ A social smile in response to faces ✨ Cooing and early vocal interactions ✨ Visual tracking of people and objects ✨ Improved head control ✨ Pushing up on forearms during tummy time ✨ Hands coming to the mouth These are important developmental milestones that indicate healthy neurological and motor progression. More importantly, this is when your baby begins to actively engage and connect with you. Enjoy this phase — because early bonding and interaction play a crucial role in overall development. #1minwithdrjyo #cherishchildrensclinic #drjyothirmayi #babymilestone

ReelsWhen do babies start responding to their name? 🤍 One of the most common things parents are curious about! You can start calling your baby by their name from around 4–6 months, they begin to recognize it by 6–9 months, and respond more consistently by 9–12 months. Every baby develops at their own pace—but knowing what to expect helps you feel more confident as a parent ✨ If you notice no response at all by 9–12 months, it’s always better to check early. ReelsThis is one of the most common pregnancy beliefs I hear from moms and grandmothers alike. Myth - An itchy belly does not mean your baby will have more hair. What’s really happening? During pregnancy, your skin stretches rapidly and hormones change. This can dry out the skin and cause itching, especially over the tummy. What actually decides your baby’s hair? Genetics. Hair growth depends on family genes, not belly itching. Quick tips if your belly feels itchy: • Moisturise regularly • Avoid very hot showers • Wear soft, breathable clothing • Tell your doctor if itching becomes severe or widespread Old stories are fun to hear, but when it comes to your body and your baby, science gives the real answers. ReelsMany parents ask me how to give nuts safely to children, and almonds are a great example. Soaking almonds overnight isn’t just an old tradition. It actually improves digestion and nutrient absorption, especially for young tummies. When almonds are soaked: • Tannins and phytic acid reduce • The skin peels off easily • Iron, calcium, and healthy fats are absorbed better • They become gentler on the gut For toddlers and young children, soaked & peeled almonds are easier to digest and less likely to cause tummy discomfort. Raw almonds, on the other hand, can be harder for small digestive systems to handle, especially if given regularly or in larger amounts. How to offer almonds safely to kids: • Always soak overnight (8–10 hours) • Peel the skin • Grind, powder, or make a smooth paste • Never give whole nuts to young children (choking risk) Small changes like this can make a big difference to your child’s nutrition. Posts“Is this normal for my child’s age?” If you’ve asked this even once, you’re not alone. From toddler years to pre-teens, children change emotionally, socially, and behaviourally, often faster than we expect. Big emotions, mood swings after school, sudden need for privacy, strong opinions, or confidence dips… many of these are age-appropriate, not red flags. What matters most isn’t perfection, but patterns. Children grow in phases, not straight lines. And reassurance, consistency, and understanding go a long way in helping them feel safe as they grow. ReelsWhen I explained about using ear buds for children, one mother was genuinely shocked. And honestly, her reaction is very common. Many parents use ear buds to clean their child’s ears, thinking it’s safe and hygienic. But what we don’t realize is that the ear canal is delicate, especially in children. Ear buds often push the wax deeper inside instead of removing it. This can lead to ear blockage, pain, infections, reduced hearing, and sometimes even injury to the ear drum. Ear wax is not dirt. It actually protects the ear from dust, bacteria, and insects. Most of the time, the ear cleans itself naturally. Cleaning inside the ear with ear buds is usually unnecessary and risky. As parents, the safer approach is simple. Clean only the outer part of the ear with a soft cloth after a bath. If your child complains of ear pain, reduced hearing, or frequent itching, it’s better to consult a pediatrician or ENT specialist instead of trying home methods. Sometimes, doing less is the best care we can give our children. PostsPuberty doesn’t happen overnight it begins quietly, with small changes parents often notice first. Voice cracks, sudden height spurts, oily skin, and growing emotions are all part of a normal, healthy transition from childhood to adolescence. Understanding these signs early helps parents respond with reassurance, patience, and the right guidance , because this phase needs support, not fear. 🤍 If you have questions about your child’s development, growth, or puberty timeline, don’t hesitate to talk to a pediatrician. ReelsParents… I’m serious 😅 When you bring your child for vaccination, please make sure your little boy is wearing underwear too 🙈😭😂 Kids can pee suddenly, and with boys it can go anywhere! Plus, we usually give vaccines on the thigh, so the lower body has to be exposed. Underwear makes it less awkward and more comfortable for both the child and the doctor. Posts2016 ✨ Throwback to the “Family of 3” era 🧿 Back when we still did pre-event photoshoots for every birthday & anniversary 📸🥹 Back when I was living in Belgaum, Karnataka… and those 2–3 day trips to Hyderabad to meet my parents felt like everything ❤️ Also… the year I became Dr. Jyothirmayi, MD Pediatrics 👩⚕️🎂 (that cake said it all 😭✨) …and the year I was still in constant conflict with my hair 😅 straightener on… curls ignored… self-acceptance loading… ⏳😂 And the most special part? Our first international trip as parents — Hong Kong & Macau with my little girl 🌏✨ We waited 3 long years through post-graduation to finally travel together… and it was SO worth it 🥹🤍 Good old days… simple, chaotic, emotional, beautiful. Forever grateful. 💫 #Throwback2016

ReelsBhogi Manta is a beautiful tradition passed down through generations, symbolising letting go of the old and welcoming new beginnings. This post is not against the tradition, but a gentle reminder that times have changed. Today, materials like plastic, rubber, tyres, or painted wood sometimes get added unknowingly, releasing toxic smoke that can harm growing lungs, especially in children and those with asthma or allergies. ReelsMany parents ask this question — when should a girl start wearing a bra? There is no fixed age. It’s about body development, comfort, and confidence — not numbers. Some girls feel comfortable with a camisole at first. Some prefer a soft sports bra when changes begin. Later, a well-fitting regular bra makes sense. Every child grows at her own pace, and that is completely normal 🤍 Guide gently. No pressure. ReelsHoney feels natural, healthy, and harmless, but for babies below 1 year, it isn’t safe. Honey can carry spores that a baby’s immature gut cannot handle, and that risk is real, even in small amounts. Until your baby turns one, skip honey completely, their body simply isn’t ready yet. ReelsIf I was trying to build my kids' immunity in 2026, I wouldn’t begin with supplements, syrups or fancy “superfoods.” And I wouldn’t wait for the next cold or cough to fix things. Because after years of being a paediatrician and a mom, I’ve realised something important. The real immunity hack is surprisingly simple, make daily outdoor time non-negotiable. Here’s why this one habit works like magic: • Sunlight boosts Vitamin D, something half of Indian kids lack. • Open-air exposure trains the immune system with safe, natural microbes. • Physical play strengthens the lungs and reduces cough–cold cycles. • Outdoor time improves sleep, and better sleep strengthens immunity. • Nature reduces stress, and a calmer child has a stronger immune system. If I could pick only one immunity habit for the entire year, this would be it. ReelsMealtimes really don’t have to feel like a war zone. Most kids do perfectly well with 20–30 minutes of focused eating, that’s enough. And if your child starts getting restless, distracted, or just refuses? Take a pause. Breathe. Don’t push. Because the moment we force-feed, the trust around food starts to break. ReelsDuring fever, one of the most common questions I get from parents is — ‘Can I give rice during fever?’ The answer is yes! There’s no need to restrict foods when your child has fever. The body needs energy and fluids, not fasting. Give light, easily digestible foods — like rice, dal, curd rice, idli, upma, oats, or rasam rice. Foods like boiled egg or chicken soup are fine too, but give them only during the day, as they take a little longer to digest. Avoid oily, spicy, and fried foods. Focus on hydration — offer water, ORS, coconut water, or clear soups frequently. And remember, keeping the diet simple and light helps your child recover faster. If the fever lasts more than 3 days, or your child looks dull or refuses fluids, it’s time to see your doctor. I’m Dr. Jyothirmayi, Pediatrician — save this video for those fever days! #1minwithdrjyo #FeverDiet #DrJyoRecommends #DocMomJyo #PediatricianTips #FeverInKids #ParentingTips #ChildHealth #HydrationMatters #MomLifeIndia #DoctorMom #HealthReel #KidsHealth #ParentEducation #drjyothirmayi #cherishchildrensclinic

ReelsDoes your child start crying the moment they see the clinic or hospital? Parents, please listen — you might be the reason for that fear. At home, many parents say things like, “If you don’t eat, the doctor will give you an injection,” or “Doctor aunty will scold you.” It sounds harmless, but to a child, it builds fear. They start to see doctors as someone who hurts them, not helps them. As a pediatrician, it breaks my heart when a child cries even before I say hello. We are here to care, to comfort, and to help — not to scare them. You make us villains at home and then expect them not to cry at the clinic. Remember — a pediatrician and a child share a long-term relationship, from the day they are born till they become adults. So instead of scaring them with the word “doctor,” show them that doctors are here to help. That’s when hospital visits become cheerful, and trust begins to grow. 💗 #1minwithdrjyo #ParentingAwareness #PediatricianAdvice #PositiveParenting #GentleParenting #ChildCare #DoctorParentBond #ParentingDoneRight #drjyothirmayi #cherishchildrensclinic
